MIAMI GARDENS — When Aaron Rodgers was traded from the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets, no one knew it would take nearly 20 months before the first time the Miami Dolphins faced him in the AFC East.
Rodgers’ torn Achilles in his first game as a Jet in September 2023, followed by the annual season series between Miami and New York taking place late in 2024, made it a long time coming for what was expected to be an anticipated matchup.
“It’s been a long time coming, but it’s super cool,” said Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who is trying to keep his Dolphins (5-7) afloat while Rodgers’ Jets (3-9) are out of the playoff hunt.
