ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -- Defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins has re-signed with the Washington Redskins, less than two weeks after he was released.
The team announced the signing on Wednesday, two days after their defensive line was manhandled during a 38-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the regular-season opener.
The 35-year-old Jenkins was cut on Sept. 3, five days after he originally was signed. He played in Washington's preseason finale, then was let go on the day teams needed to get their rosters down to 53 players.
Jenkins said he did not work out for any other clubs before the late-preseason signing with Washington.
