De’Vondre Campbell quit on the San Francisco 49ers mid-game

During the San Francisco 49ersThursday Night Football loss to the Los Angeles Rams, which serves as the near literal nail in the coffin for the 49ers’ playoff chances this year, San Francisco linebacker and former Green Bay Packer De’Vondre Campbell made an incredibly selfish decision: not playing in the game because he didn’t feel like it.

According to head coach Kyle Shanahan, Campbell alerted the coaching staff that he didn’t want to suit up for action. When Shanahan tried to get Campbell in the game in the third quarter for Dre Greenlaw, who was only recently activated from IR for an Achilles injury that was sustained in last year’s Super Bowl, Campbell instead went into the locker room.
