Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Jared Goff threw three touchdown passes and the Detroit Lions used their dominant offensive line to overwhelm the Green Bay Packers, sparking a narrow 34-31 victory and clinching their spot in the NFL playoffs.
Goff threw two of his touchdown tosses to wide receiver Tim Patrick on Thursday at Ford Field in Detroit. The Lions totaled nearly 400 yards of offense in their 11th-consecutive victory. They also converted 4 of 5 fourth-down conversions, including one with 17 seconds remaining, which allowed them to burn the final seconds off the game clock and seal the triumph.
