In this edition of Alumni Spotlight, Packers.com Senior Writer Mike Spofford sat down with former Packers WR Derrick Mayes. Mayes compares Notre Dame fans to Packers fans, and discusses his time as a player learning from Robert Brooks, and memories of returning to Green Bay from Super Bowl XXXI.
Drafted in the second round by the Green Bay Packers in 1996, Derrick Mayes was a valued contributor at wide receiver for the Packers’ powerful offenses during the 1996-98 seasons. Playing in 33 games, the sure-handed Mayes helped the team to three playoff appearances, including Super Bowls XXXI and XXXII.
