The Green Bay Packers are going to be short some defensive depth over the first few games in the 2016 season. Defensive lineman Mike Pennel was suspended by the NFL for the first four games of the season earlier this year, and now he has a teammate joining him. Cornerback Demetri Goodson was just suspended for the same timeframe, according to an NFL press release.
The official reason given for Goodson's suspension was the same as Guion's: violation of the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
Both Pennel and Goodson were part of the Packers' 2014 rookie class, with Pennel an undrafted free agent and Goodson a sixth-round draft pick out of Baylor.
