Green Bay— The four-year contract extension Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Mike Daniels signed Monday will use only $2.4 million of the team's remaining $9.69 million of salary cap room in 2015.
The deal, initially reported to be worth $42 million, actually is worth $41 million, according to a source with access to NFL Players Association salary data, and it includes a $12 million signing bonus. The official average per year of the deal is $10.25 million.
Daniels' 2015 base salary of $1,542,000 remains the same and the only additional money Daniels will receive this year is the signing bonus.
