I’ve said for a while that the Packers’ defensive talent hasn’t been good enough since 2010. That’s also the last time Green Bay has been ranked in the top 10 in either points or yards.
Things changed in a hurry this offseason. The Packers got three, and maybe four, new defensive starters. Za’Darius Smith from the defensive end, Preston Smith from the outside linebacker and Adrian Amos at free safety. I also see rookie Darnell Savage, Jr. starting at strong safety because his lightning speed cannot be contained.
Many have said that all that defensive depth means that more pressure is now on Aaron Rodgers.
