INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- The Indianapolis Colts got their backup quarterback Friday by signing Scott Tolzien.
Indianapolis needed a backup after deciding not to re-sign 40-year-old Matt Hasselbeck, who has retired, and releasing Ryan Lindley in February and Josh Freeman earlier this month.
Now, Tolzien, who backed up two-time MVP Aaron Rodgers for the past three seasons, will work with Andrew Luck in Indy.
The 6-foot-2, 213-pound Wisconsin alum got his most extensive NFL action when Rodgers was injured in 2013. Tolzien went 55 of 90 for 717 yards with one touchdown and five interceptions.
