Clay Matthews more shifty thanks to Joe Thomas

Green Bay — After a two-week stretch that included being cut by the Green Bay Packers, courted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and scooped up by the Dallas Cowboys while waiting for a connecting flight, linebacker Joe Thomas finally settled into a comfortable spot in the middle of Clarke Hinkle Field.

It was Sept. 24, Thomas' first practice after re-signing with the Packers and the beginning of the workweek to prepare for the Kansas City Chiefs. The coaches called for a two-minute drill, starters against starters, and Thomas lined up at the heart of the dime defense as the only inside linebacker.
