Matthews has been dealing with what has been termed as knee soreness. That caused him to miss five practices and Thursday’s preseason opener, although we believe he would have played if it were a regular season game.
So Matthews has more or less been day-to-day since shortly after training camp began.
It doesn’t sound like he’s going to be fully healthy anytime soon, either.
Monday morning, Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy wasn’t even sure Matthews would participate in practice.
“I think he’s going to try to practice today. He’s on a program that they’re going through,” McCarthy said.
