Matthews dropped out after the Green Bay Packers’ second training camp practice and hasn’t practiced since, with what has been vaguely described as knee soreness.
As you may have assumed, the training staff is being overly cautious with the injury.
“You know what, this is probably the best I’ve felt, this entire off-season,” Matthews said. “I was able to do the entire off-season program, put in my work back home, and just kind of within the first couple practices started having some soreness.
“I think we’re just being more precautious and smart than anything else, and I think that’s kind of where we’re at right now.
