Christian Ringo making a name for himself among Packers players, coaches

The last significant glimpse of Christian Ringo, a rookie from Louisiana-Lafayette, faded in early September with the conclusion of the exhibition season. Ringo, drafted in the sixth round by the Green Bay Packers, had spent his time flitting between positions as he learned to compensate for a Mike Daniels-esque lack of size.

Some days, Ringo lined up as a 3-technique to mirror Daniels, his mentor and physical comparison. On others he floated wide to the 5-technique, a position most often filled by Mike Pennel and Letroy Guion.

Released by the Packers during final cuts, Ringo, who measured 6-03/4 and 300 pounds, signed to the practice squad where his reps were plentiful but his development — at least in a public sense — was overshadowed by more prominent storylines.
