We knew this move was coming when the Green Bay Packers released receiver Jared Abbrederis last week. Safety Chris Banjo, who was sent to injured reserve along with Abbrederis, was released by the Packers on Monday with an injury settlement.
Like Abbrederis, Banjo’s injury wasn’t season-ending, so we knew this move was inevitable.
Banjo was able to play in just two games for the Packers this season. He was one of the team’s best special teams players in 2015, but the depth at safety obviously made him expendable.
The Packers clearly like what they have in rookies Kentrell Brice and Marwin Evans.
