There were many compromises Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur had to make in 2019.
They didn’t want to take out of the offense too many things Rodgers excelled at while also removing the broken parts while installing new, albeit foreign, ones for the veteran quarterback.
One of those new things is the use of presnap motion. Players in motion was almost non-existent in the offense former coach Mike McCarthy ran in Green Bay but was a staple of the offense LaFleur and his former mentor Kyle Shanahan run.
With one year under his belt, LaFleur is starting to infuse more of his own concepts into the offense and that starts with pre-snap motion.
