Clay Matthews and Aaron Kampman were together briefly as teammates with the Green Bay Packers. Matthews was a first-round draft pick in 2009, the season that would be Kampman’s last with the team before he signed a free agent deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the two were the starting outside linebackers for a Dom Capers defense that finished second in yards allowed and seventh in points allowed.
That defensive turnaround — the team was 20th and 22nd in 2008 under DC Bob Sanders — helped buoy the Packers from 6-10 the year before to an 11-5 record and a playoff berth.
