With the Green Bay Packers’ veterans starting to show up to move into the dorms on Tuesday, general manager Brian Gutekunst dropped a bit of a surprise on fans awaiting Wednesday’s shareholders meeting and the team’s first practice on Tuesday.
Upon showing up to town, Dean Lowry, a fourth-round pick from the Packers’ 2016 draft class, became the first member of that class to earn a second contract in the NFL. Lowry signed a new deal that will give him a bit over $20 million on three more years.
All told, the Packers still have six of their seven picks from 2016 on the roster.
