When the Green Bay Packers signed free agent defensive lineman Ricky Jean Francois, it seemed to be a perfect marriage of a player with experience and knowledge of the team’s scheme with a team needing another veteran presence to help out. The fact that Letroy Guion was suspended for the first four games of the year underscored the need for another veteran lineman to help tutor the young players in the group.
Then, about a week and a half ago, Guion got pulled over for driving under the influence of alcohol, which put his 2017 season — and really, the remainder of his NFL career — in question.
