The Green Bay Packers did not select a single player at an offensive position on the first two days of the 2017 NFL Draft. This was hardly a surprise, though some (including this writer) believe that it might have been prudent to find a wide receiver early; still, the team added six draft picks on day three of the draft to the offense and several more players in undrafted free agency.
Five of those players are running backs, while the team also added a handful of receivers and a quarterback. Few of these individuals should see much playing time in 2017, with the exception of a couple of the running backs; still, with the future of the receiver and backup quarterback positions a bit uncertain, the coaching staff will have to take every opportunity to develop the players at those spots with the long view in mind.
