Cheese Curds, 4/28: Draft provided a diversion, but 2020 NFL season is still uncertain

The 2020 NFL Draft has come and gone, and for three short days, things felt a little bit normal again for football fans. The usual banter, excitement, frustration, and emotional gamut of the draft provided a temporary diversion from COVID-19 concerns, giving fans some live sports-related programming to follow.

But with the event now in the rear-view mirror and teams going back to work — entirely virtually, of course — it re-centers the focus around the questions that still exist around the 2020 NFL season. There remains no guarantee that there will be football in the fall, and if games are canceled, that will hit Green Bay’s local economy much harder than any other market.
