One thing I genuinely appreciate about team president Mark Murphy is that he has zero filter when speaking with the media. In early March, he spoke about the team’s ongoing negotiations with the New York Jets surrounding quarterback Aaron Rodgers and that whole saga, which I’m sure general manager Brian Gutekunst was not the biggest fan of. The latter then presumably forced Murphy to switch gears mere weeks later by telling those in attendance at the Wisconsin Tech Summit at Lambeau Field that, with a chuckle, “I’m sworn to secrecy not to say anything” regarding the trade. He also spilled the beans just a few weeks ago in his monthly column, Murphy Take 5, by implying that the Jets would be the featured team on Hard Knocks.
Can the Packers' defense carry the team to start the 2023 season?
