It was thought to be a foregone conclusion that star wide receiver Davante Adams would return to the Green Bay Packers if quarterback Aaron Rodgers decided to do so first. Rodgers re-signed with Green Bay and the team then applied the franchise tag on Adams, effectively avoiding a free agency bidding war for his services. However, things went south when the two parties couldn’t agree on a long-term contract extension. Adams was shockingly traded to the Las Vegas Raiders, where he immediately inked a new deal that made him the league’s highest-paid receiver- at least before the Tyreek Hill trade.
