Each year, at least one undrafted free agent makes the team. Each year, the Packers are able to sign guys who get better offers elsewhere because those guys know they’ll get a real shot in Green Bay.
So while the Packers end up not paying undrafted free agents as much as other teams, they certainly do weight those contracts with signing bonuses.
In this year’s 19-member class, the Packers handed nine guys $5,000 bonuses, which is the most they paid to any undrafted free agents.
Those players are North Dakota State running back John Crockett, Texas A&M Commerce receiver Ricky Collins, Missouri receiver Jimmie Hunt, Stony Brook receiver Adrian Coxson, Pittsburgh guard Matt Rotheram, Bethune-Cookman outside linebacker Tavarus Dantzler, Stanford outside linebacker James Vaughters, LSU outside linebacker Jermauria Rasco and Miami cornerback LaDarius Gunter.
