'Block to infinity:' When protecting Aaron Rodgers, Packers must work overtime

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- To infinity ... and beyond!

Well, maybe not beyond. Maybe, unlike Tim Allen’s Buzz Lightyear character in "Toy Story," just short of infinity will do when it comes to protecting Aaron Rodgers when he’s in extend-the-play mode.

While the Green Bay Packers' offensive linemen like to say that their job is to “block to infinity” because of Rodgers’ ability to make things happen after the designed play has gone awry, Rodgers doesn’t expect his guys to protect him forever.

Usually, eight or nine seconds will do.
