As is often the case in the NFL, making the Green Bay Packers’ 53-man roster on Saturday was no guarantee of staying there, at least for one player. Unfortunately for linebacker James Crawford, an addition on Monday meant that he was not long for the roster in 2019.
The Packers traded with the Giants on Monday, acquiring linebacker BJ Goodson. However, for Crawford, that was an unfortunate move. The Packers waived Crawford on Monday to make room for Goodson, likely putting an end to his Packers career.
Crawford was a surprise keep on the 53-man roster in 2018, earning a spot on the heels of a big performance in the preseason finale.
