The Chicago Bears are expected to meet with former Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry on Saturday for a role on their defensive staff, according to NFL Network’s Jane Slater.
Barry, who served as Green Bay’s defensive coordinator for the past three seasons, was fired Wednesday.
There was a belief that Barry could remain on the Packers’ staff in some capacity, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. But it sounds like he’s exploring other options — even with his former team’s arch rivals.

While it doesn’t sound like Barry is being interviewed for the defensive coordinator opening, the search for that job remains ongoing.
