Bears plan to release CB Kyle Fuller, who may become a Packers target

One of the better cornerbacks in the NFL may be about to hit the open market. According to multiple media reports, the Chicago Bears plan to release Kyle Fuller this week, putting a former All-Pro out on the market as a street free agent.

This is a move entirely focused around freeing up salary cap space. Fuller was due to have a $20 milion salary cap hit in 2020, and the release will designed to free up about $11 million in cap room. Interestingly, this contract is largely the work of the Green Bay Packers, who signed Fuller to an offer sheet in 2018 after the Bears assigned him the transition tag that offseason.
