The summer of the Chicago Bears kicker thankfully and mercifully came to an end at the start of the 2019 regular season. Eddy Pineiro outlasted the competition throughout the offseason and connected on his only attempt in Week 1's opener against the Green Bay Packers. It was a perfect strike from 38 yards out.
Still, it feels like wishful thinking for Bears fans to eliminate the kicker conversation altogether. Pineiro blasted a kickoff out of bounds (for a penalty) immediately after his field goal and coach Matt Nagy chose to pass on a 51-yard attempt, opting to go for it on 4th-and-10 instead.
