The Green Bay Packers made the announcement we long expected on Monday. Safeties coach Darren Perry is leaving. Or he was let go, that really isn’t clear.
What is clear is that Perry was angry that he didn’t get the Packers’ defensive coordinator job. Once it was announced that Mike Pettine would be the guy, Perry started looking for another job. He interviewed for the same position with the Houston Texans. He’s also been connected to the Tennessee Titans.
Also clear is that there didn’t really appear to be a place for Perry in Green Bay. The Packers promoted cornerbacks coach Joe Whitt to defensive passing game coordinator.
