It came as a surprise to many when the Arizona Cardinals released linebacker Krys Barnes as part of their cutdowns to reach the initial 53-player roster earlier this week.
But after signing with the Cardinals practice squad, the team announced Thursday that they had signed Barnes to the active roster.
Barnes' signing comes after Arizona placed cornerback Elijah Jones on injured reserve.
Barnes had 55 total tackles and one interception in 16 games with Arizona last season. He played three seasons with the Green Bay Packers from 2020-22.
