The bye week couldn’t have come at a better time for the Green Bay Packers, who are currently doggy-paddling in second place in the muddy NFC North. The bye week not only presents a chance to get healthy — with Aaron Rodgers, Randall Cobb, Geronimo Allison, and Jaire Alexander (to name a few) nursing injuries — but it also allows coach Mike McCarthy time to self scout and scheme for two tough upcoming games against the Rams and the Patriots. For what it’s worth, McCarthy has a 9-3 record in contests following a Packers bye week.
