The first field goal attempt in the NFL career of Green Bay Packers rookie Anders Carlson connected from 52 yards out as time expired in the first half of Sunday’s season opener at Soldier Field in Chicago.
The long-range field goal gave the Packers a 10-6 lead over the Bears at half time.
Credit to holder Daniel Whelan, who caught a high snap from long snapper Matt Orzech and got down a clean hold for Carlson, who hit the ball well and made the 52-yarder with ease. The kick split the uprights.
