The Green Bay Packers went through their offseason program with three kickers – incumbent Anders Carlson, former Minnesota Vikings kicker Greg Joseph and untested Jack Podlesny.
On the final day of the Packers’ offseason program last week, Green Bay coach Matt LaFleur was asked if the Packers would carry all three into training camp.
“I think that’s to be determined, quite honestly, so we’ll see how it all plays out,” LaFleur said. “Ultimately, that’s going to be (general manager Brian Gutekunst’s) decision, but that’s something that we’ve certainly talked about.”
On Wednesday, Gutekunst made his decision: Green Bay announced Podlesny had been released.
