Albert 'Pat' Peppler was Packers personnel director during Glory Years

The Green Bay Packers have lost another member of the Vince Lombardi era.

Former director of player personnel Albert "Pat" Peppler died Tuesday at age 93 in Stuart, Fla., where he had been living for several years.

Peppler's time with Lombardi was relatively short but exceptionally successful. He worked with Lombardi for six years, starting in 1963 when he was hired by Lombardi a few weeks after the Packers won the 1962 National Football League championship. He ran Lombardi's drafts from 1964-'69, taking such players as guard Gale Gillingham, running backs Donny Anderson and Jim Grabowski, linebacker Fred Carr, fullback John Brockington and cornerback Willie Buchanon.
