This may have been true even before Christian Watson’s knee spontaneously exploded on Sunday, but it sure looks like the Packers are going to have to do make an investment at wide receiver this offseason.
Watson’s injury certainly is the major factor here. Still a fairly limited player, Watson had embodied his role well this year. He wasn’t a volume receiver by any means; he only had 29 catches this year, only one more than in his injury-decimated 2023 campaign. But he turned those catches into a career-high 621 yards, an astonishing 21.4 yards per catch.
