There are many reasons why, at the start of the 2015 NFL season, that the mainstream media outlets were ranking the Green Bay Packers, led by Aaron Rodgers, as the favorites to win Super Bowl 50.
It wasn’t because they were destined to win the 50th anniversary of the big game, given that they won the first two “Super Bowls” back in the late 1960s.
That had nothing to do with it.
But in the end, we all know what happened …
But before Jordy Nelson went down to injury and the Packers’ offense was thrown into major discombobulation, the experts pointed to the fact that Green Bay came so close in 2014 – three minutes or so from winning the Championship Game – and the fact that had Brandon Bostick not tried to field that onside kick that it would have been Aaron Rodgers and the Packers versus Tom Brady and the Patriots – a team the Packers had beaten during the regular season.
