GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Back in 2012, Aaron Rodgers delivered a scouting report on one of his favorite assistant coaches -- Jerry Fontenot. Although Rodgers had never been coached directly by the assistant offensive line coach-turned-running backs coach-turned-tight ends coach, the Green Bay Packers quarterback offered up his unsolicited prediction of Fontenot’s coaching arc.
“Jerry Fontenot is head-coach material,” Rodgers said on his weekly radio show on Oct. 23, 2012. “I always enjoy spending time with Jerry and talking to him. I get a chance to talk to him on Fridays, as I’m on the third floor for a few hours with [the assistant coaches].
