GREEN BAY — Mark Murphy got back from the annual NFL Meetings in Florida last week and detoured on his way home from Austin Straubel International Airport.
The Green Bay Packers team president/CEO wanted to see how much progress had been made on the league’s setup around Lambeau Field for the rapidly approaching 2025 NFL Draft, the crown jewel of his presidency, which will come to an end with his 70th birthday and required retirement in July.
While Murphy had been gone for less than a week — although it might’ve felt longer given the way the Packers had been front-and-center with their proposal to ban the Philadelphia Eagles’ infamous “Tush Push” play — he couldn’t believe his eyes as he came through the intersection of Lombardi Avenue and Ridge Road.
