For the second time this season, wide receiver Max McCaffrey is leaving Green Bay for another NFL team.
On Tuesday, the San Francisco 49ers signed McCaffrey to their 53-man active roster, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. McCaffrey had been on the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad, but according to NFL rules, those players may sign with another team if they are placed on the active roster.
McCaffrey recorded a team-high eight receptions during the 2017 preseason, and finished second on the team in receiving yards with 85.
