The Packers have cut three players as they open up roster spots for players returning from the COVID-19 reserve list.
Tight end James Looney, cornerback Marc-Antoine Dequoy, and wide receiver Darrell Stewart were let go Saturday.
Looney, a 2018 seventh-round pick, was in the midst of a position change. Originally taken as a defensive lineman, he switched to tight end last season and was in the process of slimming down to play on offense. He’s the second player from the Packers’ 2018 draft class to be released this summer, along with Cole Madison.
