The Green Bay Packers snapped a four-game losing streak and kept their playoff hopes alive with a 27-13 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.
Green Bay needed some kind of spark to get their season back on track, and they got that from Aaron Rodgers, who completed 30/39 passes for 319 yards and two touchdowns.
He set the tone for the rest of the game on the first drive, where he effortlessly led the Packers all the way down the field to take a 7-0 lead on a 12-yard TD pass from Rodgers to Davante Adams. The Eagles answered with a long touchdown drive of their own, but Rodgers found Adams again on Green Bay's ensuing possession for another touchdown:
That play ended up giving the Packers a lead they would never relinquish. Both sides traded field goals over the next quarter and a half, leaving the game in question until Green Bay put the game away with a one-yard touchdown run from Aaron Ripkowski in the fourth quarter. That not only extended the lead to 24-13, but it was the first time this season a Packers running back had rushed for a touchdown.
Philadelphia tried to mount a comeback, but were unable to even threaten to score after that. Rookie quarterback Carson Wentz went 24/36 passing for 254 yards and an interception while picking up 33 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Outside of him, no one on the Eagles was able to produce.
Adams proved to be Rodgers' favorite target all night long for Green Bay, finishing with 113 yards and two touchdowns on five catches. The Packers improve to 5-6 on the season with the win, and will look to get back to .500 next week at home against the Houston Texans.
Philadelphia drops to 5-6 with the loss, and will look to keep their playoff hopes alive against the Bengals in Cincinnati next Sunday.
