NFL Free Agency starts on March 9th, and the next few days will feature several Green Bay Packers rumors. While free agency doesn't officially start until Wednesday, Monday and Tuesday are "legal tampering" days. That means teams can discuss contracts with any player, although a deal can't be signed until Wednesday. With that in mind, here are a few of the more interesting rumors and news tidbits on the Packers.
Peppers Recruiting Forte?
The Packers are interested in adding a running back this offseason, and it might end up being Matt Forte. ESPN reports Julius Peppers is trying to recruit his old teammate to Green Bay.
"Word is that another ex-Bear-turned-Packer, Julius Peppers, has been trying to recruit Forte to Green Bay. It sounds like Forte wants to go to a contender, so perhaps the Packers could get him at an affordable price."
Forte could make for a deadly combo with Eddie Lacy, especially if the latter loses the weight he promised to. Forte would need to come cheap, but he'd be one of the bigger Packers' free agent moves in recent memory.
Packers Interested In Broncos LB Brandon Marshall?
The Broncos placed a second-round tender on restricted free agent linebacker Brandon Marshall. That means the Broncos can match any offer Marshall receives, and they'd get a second round pick in return if they don't. Teams will be interested in Marshall.

The Packers' interest makes sense, as they have a need at linebacker and Marshall is one of the better young ones in the NFL. However, they might not want to give up a second rounder.
