NFL Free Agency is officially here and the NFL Draft is rapidly approaching. As a result, the next few days (or even weeks) will feature at least a few Green Bay Packers rumors. The Packers have been quiet so far, but they might not be done yet. They've also started to focus more on the NFL Draft. With that in mind, here are all of the interesting rumors and news tidbits on the Packers.
James Starks Is Back
The running back took a few visits, but decided to return to Green Bay. It's a two-year, $6 million deal for Starks, reports Ian Rapoport. Starks out-produced Eddie Lacy season. The Packers want Lacy to be the main back, but if he struggles again next year, Starks can pick up the slack.
Karlos Dansby and Green Bay?
The Packers need inside linebacker help, which makes Karlos Dansby a logical fit for the Packers. Dansby is not the player he once was and has only a few years, at most, left. But, he's an upgrade over what the Packers currently have and wouldn't cost the team any compensatory picks. However, the Packers have yet to be linked to Dansby and the team doesn't often sign free agents from other teams. There's no guarantee the Packers would want to pay Dansby what he's asking for.
Packers Want Jack Conklin?
The Packers are picking towards the end of the first round, but are hoping Jack Conklin slips to them. Tony Pauline reports the Packers want Conklin, but don't think the Michigan State OT fall to them. If Conklin doesn't fall, Indiana OT Jason Spriggs is the team's backup plan. The Packers already have David Bakhtiari and Bryan Bulaga at tackle. Both played well enough last season, although an upgrade is possible. Josh Sitton and T.J. Lang were great at guard, but both Sitton and Lang are free agents after next season. The Pack could be looking at Conklin/Spriggs as long-term replacements somewhere along the line.
