In Packers rumors today, one ESPN analyst believes that the Green Bay Packers could bury the hatchet with former starting quarterback Brett Favre as early as this upcoming season.
When asked if the Packers are planning to honor Brett Favre either in 2014 or 2015, ESPN Packers blogger Rob Demovsky believes that there no better time than right away:
"Packers president Mark Murphy perhaps unknowingly broke a little bit of news this week, when he said they tried to have a reunion with Brett Favre last season, but Favre's high school football coaching schedule got in the way. With Favre apparently not returning to coach next season, there shouldn't be anything standing in the way."
Yet Demovsky doesn't think that the Green Bay Packers will be going as far as to retire his jersey in 2014. Rather, Demovsky states that his guess is "that they might first bring him back for a game – perhaps even for alumni weekend – as a way of reintroducing him to the Packers' fans before retiring his number at a later date."
