The Green Bay Packers' defense played their hearts out on Sunday, neutralizing the #1 scoring offense in the NFL for long stretches of the team's 26-21 victory over the New England Patriots.
Defensive coordinator Dom Capers may have been impressed with his group's moxie on Sunday, but he's far from satisfied.
“I don’t think anything breeds confidence like success. We’ve made strides in November. We have to play our best football in December. We have to strive to improve,” Capers said, via Vic Ketchman of Packers.com.
How much more can the Packers improve over the 2014 NFL season's final four weeks?
“I hope we can get as much better between now and the end of the season as we have since the bye week and now,” Capers said.
The Green Bay Packers are currently 28th in the league in run defense and 11th against the pass, good for just 25th overall. However, they are playing their best with the chips firmly on the table - a very positive sign as the Packers attempt to clinch both an NFC North title and home-field advantage throughout the NFC Playoffs.
