In tonight's edition of Packers news, Green Bay Packers offensive line coach Joel Hilgenberg has decided to resign, per an announcement by head coach Mike McCarthy.
“It has been a great experience for me to be with the Green Bay Packers these past few years, and I am thankful for the opportunity I was given,” Hilgenberg said in an article posted on the Green Bay Packers' official website. “I feel that it is more important now that I have more time to spend with my wife, Jeanie, and our daughter, Anna. I will miss all of the great people in the Packers organization that I have come to know, and I wish everyone the very best in the future.”
Hilgenberg was the Packers' offensive quality control coach in 2011 before taking the assistant offensive line coach job in 2012.
“I respect Joel’s decision and understand his desire to focus on his family,” McCarthy stated. “We want to thank him for all of his hard work and contributions during his time with the Packers. We wish Joel, Jeanie and Anna all of the best in the years ahead.”
