Packers News: Aaron Rodgers feared he suffered an Achilles injury against Detroit

When Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down in the first half of the team's NFC North title game against the Detroit Lions, he feared the absolute worst.

"My initial thought was I popped my Achilles," Rodgers said Tuesday on his weekly ESPN Milwaukee radio show, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com. "That's why I kind of stayed down. It was a very painful sensation."

However, it all turned out to be a re-aggravation of the left calf pull that he suffered during the team's 20-3 win over the Tampa Bay Bucs the week before.

Yet, despite having an extra week to rest after Green Bay clinched a bye following the team's 30-20 win over the Lions, Rodgers is still unsure just how healthy he'll be for the team's NFC Divisional Playoff game on January 11th.

"I don't think it's a good thing," Rodgers said . "The fact that the inside [of the calf] was real weak because that was the initial point of strain in the Tampa game, the outside just kind of gave out on the scramble and the throw to Randall. Fortunate that we have two weeks here because I feel confident that I'll be in a better spot than I was going into the Lions game with an extra week of rest."
