The New England Patriots have released CB Marquice Cole for the second time this week and the third time this season. Cole was last released on September 27th after playing in the first three games of the season, only to be re-signed on October 1st. Cole was originally released during final cuts on September 1st, only to be re-signed to the Patriots roster the very next day.
Cole's playing time only came with New England's special teams unit, but he was apparently deemed superfluous to requirements. The four-year NFL veteran out of Northwestern has bounced around the league already, spending time in Oakland, Tennessee, New Orleans, and New York (with the Jets) before landing in New England. Cole played in 14 games last season, finishing with 12 total tackles, three passes deflected, seven special teams tackles and one interception.
