Jermichael Finley Injury Update: The Latest on Finley's Hospital Release and Playing Status

Green Bay Packers TE Jermichael Finley will be released from the hospital in the next 24 hours, according to the latest reports.

Finley left last Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns on a stretcher after taking a huge hit from Browns safety Tashuan Gipson in the fourth quarter. He remained down and immobile for several minutes, and wasn't immediately able to move his extremities.

While the initial prognosis was far from promising, Finley showed good signs of recovery in the intensive care unit and was able to walk unaided and by the next evening.

Finley, who was diagnosed with a bruised spinal cord, and it remains uncertain if he'll be able to return to action this season. The Packers organization did not initially expect Finley to return this year, and they're waiting until further tests can be done until they make a decision on whether or not to put Finley on the season-ending injured reserve list.
