Coach Mike McCarthy can’t help but be impressed with how the rookies are playing and the perfect mix of the young players along with the veterans. In all the years that he has worked as a coach, he emphasized that this is one of the more improved integration of the youngsters into a professional football team.
Datone Jones has impressed everyone right at the defensive end while Johnathan Franklin and Eddie Lacy have pushed the entire competition as running back. The young receivers like Myles White were successful in grabbing passes and even learning fast from the veteran players. At the same time, Jordan Miller tries to be on top nose tackle right behind Ryan Pickett.
According to McCarthy, this team comes with a different edge since everyone comes with a much higher sense of urgency. He also feels that the team’s consistency is more steady this time, assuring him that they have made a lot of quality work this time around.
Everyone is in Green Bay for the rest of the days of the week for their organized team activities. The rookies are set to remain by next week for further conditioning primer along with meetings with Rob Davis, the director of player development. As for McCarthy, he said that his assessment of the team consists more of the bigger picture.
